Why Colorado’s ski industry wants you to buy lift tickets like you do airplane tickets, but who’s being left out?

 

According to the National Ski Areas Association (NSAA), daily lift tickets in the Rocky Mountain region have increased from an average price of $97 in 2013 to $197 in 2022. That figure aggregates prices from Colorado, New Mexico, Utah, Wyoming, Idaho, and Montana.

So next year, Kudva plans to open Larimer Liquors, at 3122 Larimer St., a beer and shot bar inspired by that time. “At Elks Lodge, they have chilled beer glasses, inexpensive beer and one-ounce shots,” Kudva said, adding that he drank a lot of Pabst Blue Ribbon and Stag. “It’s decorated with wood paneling, and it’s just very warm and comforting. But you couldn’t get an old-fashioned there,” he added.
